Even if you’re new to online marketing, or marketing in general, you’ve probably heard about the importance of great content. Everywhere you look, every article you read, it’s all about curating and creating the best content for your brand.
Content can be a tricky thing – depending on your business, you may not have a lot of info to share or stories to tell. What can you blog about? What can you post on social media? What content can you fill your website with? If these are your questions, we’re here to help. There are a few ways to get killer content, even when you’re sure you have none.
Do Your Research – What terms would your prospective clients and customers use to search for a business like yours? Use your analytics to see what keywords and search terms are bringing visitors to your site.Using those, craft blog posts and website pages to answer to those needs and wants.
Write What You Know – There’s a reason you started your business – you’re good at it (…we hope!). But it can be tough to constantly think of topical subjects that you can write about. Try having a regularly-scheduled brainstorming session. Write down everything that comes to you – there are no silly ideas. From there, see which words and ideas can be made into content for your blog, social media, or website.
Do You Know What the Internet is Full of? Content! – Chances are, you’re not the only one in your specific field. So share articles and blog posts from other experts! Not to use their words as your own, of course, but to share on your social channels. Articles, blog posts, and studies are created constantly, so you should have a wealth of related information to share with your followers.
Customer-Created Content – Your customers and clients are an excellent source of useful content. If they post photos, reviews, or other info, these can all be re-posted on your own social media channels. Not only do they give you great content to share, they also make your brand more trustworthy and attractive to other potential customers. That’s a win-win.
Get Alerted – To make it even easier to find content online that is related to your brand, set up a few Google Alerts. Using specific keywords, you’ll get regular emails featuring new articles, blog posts, and press releases with those terms. From there, you can uncover some great posts to share – or even get ideas for your own blog posts.
Of course, if all of these avenues seem too overwhelming and time-consuming, it’s never a bad idea to outsource. For social media management, blogging, and any other content-related needs you may have, get in touch. At The MediaHaus, we’re all about content.
